General Contractor Power Construction
Architect Goettsch Partners
With 180 guest rooms and suites, the new construction has retained the original argyle-like patterned old brick facade, but has a new 18-story glass hotel tower. The architectural firm, Goettsch Partners, who are responsible for the building’s design, describe the glass tower as having a “folding” geometry in which the old and the new are brought together to create “harmony through contrast.”
The facade from the original building was removed while construction was taking place, then re-attached to the new building. Alliance Glazing’s contribution to the project consisted of 23,100 sq ft of faceted 4-side SSG curtain wall and 9,600 sq ft of vertical SSG window wall, both on the tower. We also installed two balanced doors in the entry to the hotel.
